Terms

Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of Dubashi Learn, an app made by Friendly Characters Limited, a company registered in England. By using the app you agree to them.

Last updated: 30 July 2026

The app

Dubashi Learn teaches a language through your own, rather than through English. You get lessons, drills, a review deck and conversations with an AI coach.

Meera is an AI

Meera is not a person. She is software, and she can be wrong. She is a practice partner, not a teacher, a translator of record, or a source of advice. Do not rely on anything she says for anything that matters — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise.

The lessons themselves are drafted and reviewed with AI assistance. We check them, and every lesson carries a one-tap way to tell us something felt wrong, but they may still contain mistakes.

Your account

Subscriptions and payment

Fair use

Paid plans are described as generous rather than unlimited, and that is deliberate: conversations cost us real money for every message. Each plan carries a monthly message allowance, and the app shows you how much of it you have used. If you reach it, you can upgrade or wait for the monthly reset.

Drills, review and the lessons you already have access to are never metered. We do not charge you for practising.

What you may not do

Content

The lessons, audio, and the app itself belong to Friendly Characters Limited. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use them while your account is active.

Anything you create — the situations you write, your recordings, your notes — stays yours. Most of it never leaves your phone. Where you send us a content report, you allow us to use it to improve the course.

Availability

We try to keep the app working, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. Conversations need an internet connection; drills and review work offline once their audio has downloaded.

Ending

You can stop using the app and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to by law. If we end your account without cause and you have paid for a period you have not used, you may seek a refund through Google Play.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

If you are a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights under UK consumer law, and nothing here affects them.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, you keep any rights your local consumer law gives you.
