Restaurant English phrases

Each pattern has a gap: swap in a different word and say the whole sentence out loud.

Notes for Hindi speakers

खाने-पीने की जगहों पर आप पहले से ही कई इंग्लिश शब्द इस्तेमाल करते हैं — जैसे कॉफ़ी (coffee), मेन्यू (menu), ऑर्डर (order), वॉटर (water), और बिल (bill)। बस इन्हें सही इंग्लिश अंदाज़ में बोलना सीखना है!

khaane-peene ki jaghon par aap pahle se hi kai inglish shabd istemaal karte hain — jaise kofi (coffee), menu (menu), orDar (order), voTar (water), aur bil (bill). bas inhen sahi inglish andaaz men bolna seekhna hai!

इंग्लिश में कुछ मांगने का सबसे विनम्र तरीका है: 'आइड लाइक...' (I'd like...) यानी 'मुझे यह चाहिए'। दूसरा तरीका है 'कैन आई गेट...' (Can I get...) यानी 'क्या मुझे यह मिल सकता है?'।

inglish men kuchh maangne ka sabse vinamr tareeka hai: 'aaiD laaik...' (I'd like...) yaani 'mujhe yah chaahie'. doosra tareeka hai 'kain aai geT...' (Can I get...) yaani 'kya mujhe yah mil sakta hai?'.

ध्यान दें: हिंदी में हम 'कॉफ़ी' पहले बोलते हैं ('मुझे एक कॉफ़ी चाहिए'), लेकिन इंग्लिश में 'आइड लाइक' (I'd like) पहले आता है और 'अ कॉफ़ी' (a coffee) बाद में।

dhyaan den: hindi men ham 'kofee' pahle bolte hain ('mujhe ek kofi chaahie'), lekin inglish men 'aaiD laaik' (I'd like) pahle aata hai aur 'a kofee' (a coffee) baad men.
